A stifling Illinois State (2-0) defense overwhelmed Eastern Michigan (1-1, 0-1 MAC), helping erase a four-point halftime deficit, as the No. 18 Redbirds rallied for a 31-14 victory in Ypsilanti, Mich., Saturday afternoon. The victory marked Illinois State's first victory against a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team since, Sept. 14, 1991, against Akron.
