Was suprised by the W&M/JMU rematch in the playoffs. I do think the soaking wet field had something to do with it.

It wasn't the field conditions. It was the five turnovers. That's not an excuse, its part of the game. It was uncharacteristic of a WM team that had taken good care of the ball all year.

Oh man, this reminds just how good it is. Why can't football come sooner?
Three months, seems like a lifetime.

True. Fumbling the ball on their own 25 just crushed the comeback W&M had in the works.

UMgriz - not just that but the 28 points off of 3 fumbles and an interception where JMU's offense only needed 91 total yards for those 4 TDs. That's a mix of good defense by JMU and bad offense by WM. The wet field and rain effected both teams so that is a wash. The better team that night won that game.

When you're listening to the JMU Band, you're listening to the best in the land. When they come to Williamsburg, they usually are invited to perform in concert on the field after the game. Thousands stay to hear them. They are the best I've ever heard.

One of the best things about the Dukes in their playoff run was that they were very opportunistic. They took advantage of the mistakes that their opponents made. Furman fans are probably still kicking themselves over that fumble at the one-yard-line that would have all but put the game away.
