Saturday, August 25, Georgia Southern's Paulson Stadium will be the setting for the 1st Annual Erk Russell Classic.
Four High Schools will kick off their seasons in a football doubleheader:
The first game will feature Region 3A Powerhouse Emmanuel County Institute vs Region 2AA Metter High School where ECI will be the favorite. Some of you may know ECI is the Alma Mater of Jacksonville St (former UGA) running back Washaun Ealy.
Game 2 will feature 3AAAA Wayne County High School vs Region 1AAAAAA Brunswick High School.
I think it's a great idea for the area high schools and great exposure for Statesboro and Georgia Southern.
