Typos/errors

1. You have Princeton DL Reid on the 1st and 3rd team.
2. Marquis Jackson is not at Texas Southern anymore. He's at Portland State.
3. Tyler Starr has no class and is not a DL anymore.
4. Wofford LB Scioneaux is a junior not senior.
5. Aaron Mellette listed twice on the 1st team offense.
6. Charles James is on the 1st and 2nd team defense.
7. BW Webb is on the 2nd and 3rd team defense.
8. Stony Brook is spelled wrong on the 3rd team where Jawara Dudley is.

Thoughts

Why did you put Lanny Funsten instead of Tyrone Goard? TSN did so as well and I don't see why Goard is not getting more love. He's a tall target with very good hands who should have a very good year.

The NW State LS is a LSU transfer on the NFL radar. I probably would have put him on there.

How is BW Webb not a first team pick? He's a solid 5th-6th round draft pick who doesn't get thrown to because he shuts his side of the field down.

I think Mike Niam is good but I wouldn't put him 1st team yet until he shows he can stay healthy.

Ryan Spadola should be on here somewhere.

I really like Earl Watford. He should be on the 1st team for sure but that's not a huge difference from 2nd to 1st team.

Uhhhh, the fact that Ryan Spadola from Lehigh didn't even make the Third Team makes CSN lose all credibility in my book.

Definitely a major omission.

Phil Steele seems to have been holding back their teams to make sure everyone else comes out before they do. I will be interested to see what they have.

Added that one in. Maybe they meant to put Spadola there?

This is why I bought Phil Steele's preview. Wasn't CSN the one's that did that joke of a magazine a few years back?

Indeed, College Sporting News published the very first color preview books featuring only the FCS.

I'm not trying to be mean. You just corrected all the things we found. Had none of us mentioned them you would not have made those corrections.

I won't complain to you for typos such as maybe a Jr instead of Sr or maybe one name spelled wrong. My point was that there were almost a dozen mistakes. One or two are simply mistakes but when you have close to a dozen something has to be mentioned. No comment as to why I think there are a lot more mistakes with CSN articles as of late. I think most people know why that's the case.

What did you see on film that he has that the others don't have? I think Swanson is good but I wouldn't put him #1 NT yet. If he has a huge year he certainly could and I do think he should be rated among top 8 or so DTs for sure.

Yep, that was it - only "preview" mag I ever saw that was sent out AFTER the season started.

Oh well, in Phil Steele we trust!!!

JT Cleveland is very deserving of his selection. This kid is very disruptive in the middle and a big reason why the defense has so much success up front.

Gary Lorance is a kid that is flying under the radar at Sam Houston . Combined with Cleveland, these two have to be two of the better DT's in FCS.

Joke of a magazine? Back when CSN did an actual print magazine, it was pretty well done and looked tons better than Phil Steele's rag-tag design ever did. A lot of pretty good people with strong FCS backgrounds contributed to CSN's magazine back in the day. Steele does a great job with stats and stuff, but it is anything but pleasing on the eyes. CSN today isn't the same thing it was back when the print magazines were published.

I haven't seen Phil Steele's FCS magazine show up in my mailbox yet and camp starts this week. He isn't setting any land-speed records in that regard.

Haven't seen the competition on film so I can't say that way, but when your NT is your leading tackler, I would say that he is not easy to keep blocked. He had 8 tackles and two sacks against Ol Miss, whose Center won the Rimington for FBS. Was a wrecking crew against NDSU, big reason we held them to 60 yds rushing at 1.8ypc. Also been injured all spring.xbawlingx

Oh he's good but there are a lot of good ones this year. I have a lot of DEs and DTs with NFL potential in my ratings.
