Robert Brown, who ran for 1,004 yards and seven touchdowns in 2010 to become the first Georgia Southern true freshman to total more than 1,000 yards rushing since Joe Ross in 1987, likely will have back surgery "in the next two weeks," GSU head coach Jeff Monken said Tuesday.

Swope was already the man. Brown had been moved to A back, where we are loaded with depth.

Brown is a heckuva back, but Swope took the fullback job from him last year and is firmly entrenched as the starter and feature back going into the fall. Swope is also about 20 lbs of muscle bigger and according the GSU S&C coach, has improved his speed as well.

GSU is LOADED at slot, especially with JJ Wilcox back full speed, but losing a player of Brown's caliber is never good. Hopefully he will heal fully first and if football is in the cards so be it, but we should all wish for health first so he can finish his degree and lead a good life. His back story is amazing.
