Who is in your preseason top ten? Do you expect title contenders Sam Houston State and North Dakota State to make runs this season? Montana and Georgia Southern?

Who are your surprise teams?

One thing i think is interesting is most GSU fans think ASU is the team to beat in the SoCon while it seems like a lot of ASU fans think GSU is the team to beat in the SoCon. A lot of mutual respect from usually hostile rivals.

The team to beat is never GSU. Pay no attention to us and spend your summer practices preparing for Jamal Jackson and the spread. Nothing to see in Statesboro. :D

Lehigh is on the fringe imo. The key really is Colvin at QB. He's played in important situations since his fr year in a Tebow type roll so he has experience. Colvin even started against UNH in 2010. He has a tremendous set of skill guys and a solid OL to carry him along.

The schedule sets up for 9 win season imo. The Hawks should be 3-0 when they visit Liberty.

Thanks for the recognition Mike. You would think that a team with 3 NC appearances and an 11-3 post season record over the last 10 years would find there way into these discussions more often! I think ASU and Montana are the only 2 with more playoff wins or as many NC appearances in that period.

I wouldn't put us in the Top 10 just yet. I see us as 12-13 range for now. If we go deeper in the playoffs this year and maybe knock off Army along the way then we should the end season in the Top 10. NDSU and Sam Houston are my 1 and 2 respectively. They played for the title and deserve those ranks for now.

I put NDSU at #1 because thats where they belong until they lose. SHSU because they are a team that returns a lot and will be even more tough. You guys lost your QB so didn't know how that will affect your team. And really you guys didn't impress me at all in the semis. App State is a powerhouse and should deserve a high ranking every year. And it is the preseason poll by a random FCS fan so i can put anyone where I feel:D

2011 team did the same thing as the 2010 team so why should this year be different? Why is it always "that team doesn't count" or "we were so different then" with you guys?

I'd agree that your 2012 team doesn't equal 2011, but does that mean you are any better? I'm not saying you won't be, but being different/change isn't necessarily good.

I was actually referring to NDSU's 2012 team =/= 2011. I only say this because in 2010, we made it to the semi's, only to be shutdown by Delaware. BUT, we were returning so many people and had a whole off-season to improve! So 2011 should be better right?? Make it all the way??

We all know what happened... :(

Don't fret too much about Bison fans. The fact that a major state university in North Dakota measures it's sports success against former Teacher's Colleges in Iowa, Georgia, and North Carolina speaks volumes.

You still butthurt about the fact that a school of a similar size following all the same rules as you beat your school down?

Does that mean you expect Sam to beat Texas A&M?
This being a preseason top 10, I have Sam as my #1 although I don't have an issue with NDSU being there. The results this Bearkat team had last season, the fact they brought most everyone back and the fact that 5 preseason all americans will be on the field how could one not? Then again, I am a homer so maybe that is why I put them #1 :)

NDSU was originally a cow college. Is that better or worse than being a teacher's college or normal school as they were called in olden times? :-) Georgia has about 14 times as many residents as North Dakota so it's not like NDSU has the fan base or resources to compete with the Georgia Bulldogs.

Ask EWU per last season if high rankings mean anything.Preseason rankings really don't matter much in the FCS as its settled on the field.Just get your bye and work for home field advantage.

so basically what your saying is SAM doesnt deserved to be ranked higher because preseason polls dont matter? makes alot of sense...
