Pick the over or under (everything is with a 1/2 game on the end, so no pushes) and we'll see who gets the most right at the end of the season. Remember that playoff wins will count, not just regular season wins, so pick as you feel appropriate.

1) Delaware - 8.5 wins
2) Georgia State - 2.5 wins
3) James Madison - 8.5 wins
4) Maine - 5.5 wins
5) New Hampshire - 7.5 wins
6) Old Dominion - 9.5 wins
7) Rhode Island - 4.5 wins
8) Richmond - 4.5 wins
9) Towson - 6.5 wins
10) Villanova - 5.5 wins
11) William & Mary - 6.5 wins

Here's a link to the Over/Under Spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgExSkWOQzlxdFZTN3B6ZkF0bUhKYTlDd3k4VkdNU Xc) so you can keep track of your predictions and see what others guessed as well.

Big South Conference (http://www.anygivensaturday.com/showthread.php?109558-Over-Under-Countdown-Big-South-Conference)

Just like Vegas, you don't set the line based on what you think the team will actually do, you set the line based on what you think will get people to bet on both sides. Obviously that worked because there are overs & unders for it.

So far it is 8 overs (including my vote) and 1 under.

So it worked (by the way, I don't see your vote on any of the three conferences that are out there, so if you're so sure of everything, join in and show us how easy it is to pick all these big boi). Just like Georgia State is set pretty low to play the "Georgia State hate" vs are they really only going to win 2 games if you pick under? I'm not saying they will only win 2-3 games, I just know some people dislike the posters on here enough to say 0 while some will see that the under is 2 and think that's too low to take that bet. Some people might see Towson went from 9 wins in the previous four years combined to 9 wins last season, are playing 2 money games against FBS teams, won 7 games in conference after never winning more than 4 conference games in the CAA, and think it was an outlier and they will backslide. Again, it's not based on what I think they will or won't win, it's just trying to pick a number that people will be on both sides of, and that happened.

The lines are great because they make you commit pretty hard on what you "think" will happen. Are you whining about this fanboi or what is the angle here exactly?

What would you have set the lines at? You'd set them so it was all easy choices to make?

The two money games for Towson is certainly something to think about now that you mentioned it. I knew about the LSU game but completely forgot about Kent St. While people like to rag on the MAC, the Golden Flashes will be favorites in that game imo. KSU isn't world beaters but they're not the dregs of FBS either.

And in the end, its all a game anyway. It's not like this is an actual betting line anyone is going to be winning/losing money on. I think the lines look pretty fair, and he justifies his work well.

My one critique: I almost wonder if Nova would be better suited with a 4.5 line, 5.5 might be a tad generous. Take out Temple we have a 10 game schedule. Games @Maine and @ODU are going to be rough. We play on the road against GA ST, long trip and playing in an empty cave could be physically and mentally tiring. Throw in the Delaware game which is usually anyones guess, and defending conference champs Towson at home, I think 4/5 wins is a bit more likely than 5/6.

Szczur,

I wouldn't count Temple as a loss yet. Last season I knew we had your number but I'm extremely nervous about this years game. We're replacing a ton of new starters and have suffered several off the field incidents. I think the Owls escape with the W just on overall talent but it won't be easy.

superman7515

Yeah, but you have a "name" factor as well. Delaware & James Madison are set kinda high because they have name recognition and a cupcake early in the season, so some will think they will be over, but that name recognition also means there are a good deal of people who will go against them just to go against them (like UD fans will go low on JMU and vice-versa just because they don't like each other). Same for Old Dominion, they've got a lot of hype and post-season wins count for the total, so it looks like it's high but some people will have them going deep and see that they have no FBS games while others might wish them ill will in their final season before FBS. It's the same reason I had to set Montana "low" for Montana standards because of the coaching transition and off season happenings. Will it work out to get some on each side? Maybe, maybe not, but it's something I had to look at.

Maine and Towson should be over, waiting to see what Rocco can do at UR. JMU has plenty of talent, but what can Mickey do with it?

Not whining, just pointing out a line that I thought was off. The count is now 12 over and 1 under, so it seems like the Towson line was an easy choice to make for most.

I don't take anything on here personal, I actually gave you positive rep yesterday on this thread. Just explaining the line of thinking. They will more than likely have to go 7-2 in FCS play, considering both FBS games are probable loses, and that's possible for them, but it's certainly more difficult than if they only had 1 FBS game and had 10 games to get to 7 wins. We'll all find out at the same time.

The 2 FBS games is a good point, though one of them is winnable.

Whining was not the correct word to use in that. Sorry, didn't mean that like that. It just seemed like a gripe that has two ways that it could go so it's sort of a toss up thing.

not only does Towson have the 2 FBS where they wouldn't have me putting money on them, even though the one is very winnable...they are not surprising anyone this year. The CAA coaches are pretty high level and since they've see what Towson is about now they will be in for some "hyped up" best efforts so I can see them losing a couple there as well. I can also see em' crushing the line. You have to be gutsy to take that number and when it's all said and done the guys that took the gutsy move are probably gonna end up doing the winning in this line game.

Again, sorry about the whining comment. Just can't see someone calling out Vegas and saying "you f'd that line up" you'd either take it or you wouldn't.:D

Who set this line, and why is anyone picking the under?? Terrance West is going to be unstoppable.
T-West is going to be unstoppable and will have the same line as last year and for the next two years as well.

But check out our schedule. I think the line is perfect. That said at 7-4, Towson is a lock for the playoffs.

Correct, I've experienced seeing Towson miss the playoffs my entire life, save for one fluke season...:)

A prediction that Delaware wins less than 8.5 games is considered hating? That's pretty presumptuous.
