The white is new or renovated to the tune of $175M. I am sure it will be more with construction costs exploding.

The track will stay simply because the stadium gets every US qualifying and NCAA track event from now to forever.

Not so fast, looks like the ncaa's may be moving if not next year the year after, too much construction.

Or make some kind of stands that cover the track but roll back for track meets and practice - like schools have in gyms all over the country. just bigger and for outdoors

No football fan likes a track around the field, but to insinuate that you can't have a great stadium with a track around the field is simply not correct. Maybe not the perfect situation, but a great football experience can be had.

Husky stadium in Seattle is proof that you can still have a great football experience with a track.

And it's the last stadium in the pac-10 with a track around it - the game experience there falls quickly as the team stinks and others are building nicer stadiums

It's probably still better than Washington State's stadium.

Plus, in all honesty, they can just play at Qwest field.

That's a pretty good stadium.

I've been up to Washington State. Martin Stadium is sweet....loud as heck.

Well, if anyone knows of a place where UW can build a seperate track and field facility on or near the campus, I'd love to see it.

Also, I think that the UW is planning a remodel on the stadium.

One would hope that a Pac-10 school like UW could afford to have separate football and track facilities. I don't know their campus, but it doesn't seem too unreasonable for a BCS school (or any other DI university for that matter)

UW doesn't have room for a second stadium on campus without taking out parking lots (which would resemble Berkeley, now that I think about it...huge school, no parking).

The UW campus has no room.

They're sort've in the situation Boise state is in. They have a track around the field too and no where to put a separate track.
