Malone was part of Mark Whipple's staff at UMass that was let go when he went to the Steelers. Coach Brown brought his entire staff in from Northeastern.

AFAIK, Malone did an excellent job at UMass. He coached UMass Center Maikel Miret to an All-A10 and All-American selection in 2001. Prior to UMass he was a graduate assistant at Virginia Tech.

Odd split of duties having separate coaches for OT-TE and OG-C. O-line is usually handled as a unit, and develops a personality linked with the OL coach. I wonder if one is in charge?
