Amazing that a school could invest in a new stadium and cut the program the following year!
Fullerton 1 year
UCSB 5 years
Etc........

UCSB and UCSD are world class research institutions. They should be at least at the level of UC Davis in athletics including football.

I read a long time ago that budget cuts were the reason why the football programs in some California state universities were cut. Fullerton had its wrestling program cut a few years ago due to the same reason.

UC San Diego just voted down moving to DI. They will remain D2 with no football, it appears. UC San Diego (nearly 30,000 students) is almost as big as UC Davis (32,600) and would have made a great partner school.
