Here is some info from a few pro days so far. I'll post more as I get them.

FURMAN

This workout was held on a GO2 surface on March 9. Former offensive tackle Joel Bell worked out along with several draft eligible from Furman.

DC Ryan Steed measured in at 5015, 190 pounds, and ran a 4.55, 4.59, and 4.62 in the 40-yard dash. His 10-yard was a 1.59, 2.70 20-yard, and stood on combine numbers for everything else except for a 7.13 3-cone. He had a 32 1/8 arm, 9 1/8 hand, and 77 5/8 wingspan. This certainly helped his stock by running 4.5s. This likely put him in the 4th round.

QB Chris Forcier measured in at 6025, 213 pounds, and ran a 4.40 40-yard dash. Forcier blew his right quad during first 40-yard dash and did not finish his first workout. He had a 1.53 10-yard, 2.58 20-yard, 35 inch vertical, 10’2 broad jump, 4.42 short shuttle, 7.15 3-cone, and did 9 bench reps. He had 31 3/8 arm, 9 3/8 hand, and 75 7/8 wingspan. Some teams project him to move to WO or FS.

WO Senderrik Cunningham measured in at 5106, 198 pounds, and ran a 4.45 and 4.47 in the 40-yard dash. He had a 1.64 10-yard, 2.57 20-yard, 35 inch vertical, 10’6 broad jump, 4.70 short shuttle, and 7.23 3-cone, and did 11 reps. He had 33 inch arms, 9 ½ arms, and 76 ½ wingspan. He should get a tryout for this workout.

SACRAMENTO STATE

This was on March 13 on FO3. There were 10mph winds and rainy.

DE Zack Nash measured in at 6024, 251 pounds, and ran a 4.88 and 4.94 in the 40-yard dash. He had a 1.73 10-yard, 2.82 20-yard, 29 inch vertical, 8’11 broad jump, 4.38 short shuttle, 7.03 3-cone, and did 18 bench reps. He had 9 7/8 hand, 32 ¼ arm, and 76 ½ wingspan.

WO Brandyn Reed measured in at 6021, 190 pounds, and ran a 4.68 and 4.73 in the 40-yard dash. He had a 1.71 10-yard, 2.73 20-yard, 31 ½ inch vertical, 9’4 broad jump, 4.36 short shuttle, 6.97 3-cone, and did not bench. He had 9 1/8 hand, 32 ¼ arm, and 76 ¼ wingspan.

WO Chase Deadder measured in at 6040, 224 pounds, and ran a 4.56 and 4.64 in the 40-yard dash. He had a 1.63 10-yard, 2.68 20-yard, 33 ½ inch vertical, 9’7 broad jump, 4.37 short shuttle, 6.77 3-cone, and did 21 bench reps. He had 9 ¼ hands, 32 5/8 arm, and 77 ¾ wingspan.

WILLIAM & MARY

This was on March 14 on FO1 surface.

OH Jonathan Grimes measured in at 5101, 207 pounds, and ran a 4.53 and 4.57 in the 40-yard dash. He had a 1.59 10-yard, 2.61 20-yard, 38 inch vertical, 10’5 broad jump, 4.03 short shuttle, 6.84 3-cone, and did 23 bench reps. He had 9 ¾ hand, 31 ½ arm, and 74 1/8 wingspan. He could get drafted late with this workout.

TE Alexander Gottlieb measured in at 6032, 250 pounds, and ran a 4.74 twice in the 40-yard dash. He had a 1.65 10-yard, 2.72 20-yard, 33 inch vertical, 10’0 broad jump, 4.42 short shuttle, 7.33 3-cone, and did 24 bench reps. He had 9 5/8 hand, 32 ½ arm, and 78 1/8 wingspan.

You might want to explain the way you have heights listed for those who don't know about the GOOFY way that the NFL does things, like Jonathan Grimes measured at 5-10.1. The NFL height and weight stuff is so stinking anal.

UCA Pro Day

March 14. Indoors. No wind. Temps in upper 70s. xlolx

(This is all I could get from the ucasports website but I'll find more)

The athletes went through testing in the weight room, which included bench press and vertical leap, and did shuttle drills, the standing broad jump and the 40-yard dash in the Pepsi Center. The three receivers then ran routes and caught passes with Dick on the practice field under the watchful eye of the scouts.

Isaiah Jackson, a Conway native and UCA’s career leader in kickoff returns, turned heads with a blistering 4.31 in the 40. Dick met with an assistant coach from the New England Patriots for an extended film session on Tuesday prior to the Pro Day workout.

5101 is 5'10 1/8. NFL lists them in 4 digits as I wrote. So 6004 is 6'0 1/2. Everything is the height in feet, then inches, and from 1/8 to 7/8 of an inch. 2/8 is 1/4 and 4/8 is 1/2.

I'm only posting key names or guys who did well. Not going to post every guy I have. That would take forever.

Here are the App pro day results I wrote up:

APPALACHIAN STATE

This workout was held on March 19 on a FO1 surface in front of 26 NFL teams. Players from Fayetteville State and Wingate also worked out with several NFL hopefuls from ASU.

WO Brian Quick measured in at 6033, 215 pounds, and ran a 4.52 and 4.55 in the 40-yard dash. He had a 1.60 10-yard, 2.59 20-yard, and kept the rest of his combine numbers. He had 33 ¼ arm, 9 ½ hand, and 80 5/8 wingspan. He caught the ball well and should go in the 2nd or early 3rd round.

DC DeAndre Presley measured in at 5097, 183 pounds, and ran a 4.48 and 4.62 in the 40-yard dash. Some clocks had him a 4.47 and 4.55 on his two runs. He had a 1.59 10-yard, 2.71 20-yard, 32 ½ inch vertical, 9’7 broad jump, ran a 4.37-4.41 short shuttle, 7.06 3-cone, did 7 bench reps, and ran a 11.77-11.83 60-yard shuttle. He had 29 3/8 arm, 8 5/8 hand, and 72 ¾ wingspan. He improved on all of his combine numbers except the 10-yard and short shuttle. He likely won’t be drafted unless it is in the 7th round.

OH Travaris Cadet measured in at 5115, 205 pounds, and ran a 4.62 and 4.67 in the 40-yard dash. He had a 1.70 10-yard, 2.74 20-yard, 33 inch vertical, 10’0 broad jump, ran 4.21-4.26 in the short shuttle, 6.97 3-cone, did 16 reps, and had a 11.84 and 11.90 6-yard shuttle. He had 30 5/8 arm, 8 ¾ hand, and 74 wingspan. Expect Cadet to be a free agent.

Re-posted from egriz:

Caleb Mcsurdy 4.68 Donny a 4.3
Severin broad jumped 10' 6" vert 36
Caleb broad jumped 9' 6" vert 31.5
Bryan Waldhauser benched 225- 24
Bobby Alt benched 225- 20

Jabin 4.42 and Caleb 4.66 second attempt
Alex Shaw 225- 18 reps

Opi vert 31
Waldhauser 4.9 40
Alt 4.9 40
Severin 4.7 40
Shaw 4.89 40
Kavario 14 bench 27.5 vert
Moutra 4.7 40

Yeah less pressure than the combine I bet. Severin probably because he was injured last year

Official Donny 4.38

I'll put up a blog post with some thoughts from what I saw visually in terms of general impressions. A few other numbers I was told:

- Jabin ran a 4.42 on a 2nd attempt, first was in the 4.6 area.

- Some DB from Rocky ran a 4.29 but some guys were doubting that

- Severin told me he was 4.68 on his 40 and did 26 reps. We talked quickly about him being an OLB in a 3-4 and he said that's exactly what he's aiming for. He said he felt great.

- Brody McKnight was money. Made every single kick, they had him kick into a very slight breeze after he hit all of his closer in ones (25 - 35). He hit two from 45, two from 50, then hit a 55 yarder and a 60 yarder. All from a kicking tee. His kickoffs from the 35 all went into the endzone, most out the back or in the back half, only one came close to being near the goal-line (maybe 1 or 2 yards in). Brody afterwards told me it was his best workout like this he'd had.

- I was told there were possibly as many as 23 scouts there, lots of hats/shirts with teams. Some teams had two scouts there like San Diego.

- Tom Cable was there, he was working out Oppy, Chuck, and Steve. I'd heard Oppy did 26 reps but can't confirm that, heard Chuck did well too.

- Wren was punting, hit some big ones, shanked a few too.

- McSurdy and especially Shaw got a long look at being fullbacks. The Cowboys scouts were testing their route running and catching.

I'm going to put a more in-depth blog post up on the egriz blog side, will get that up soon.

Also Brody did 24 reps on the bench!

Saw this tweet just now:

100% On Fg's 2 40 , 2 45, 3 50, 2 55's, 1 60 - kickoffs 8+ deep 4.2 +hang, Punts 53 + 4.8 hang, and 24 reps on the benchpress

Didn't Western have a TE working out at App for his Pro Day? Just curious if his results are out there.

I was hoping he would. He could get drafted. I personally think he's going to be the first or only draft pick from NDSU this year. I like McNorton more than Cornick to be honest. Cornick needs a good pro day after his combine and all-star game performances that had most saying free agent.

Not bad for Nathan or Isaiah. With the QB assistant coach for the Pats working out Nathan and the Cowboys looking at him, I'm gonna assume he will get either late rounds or FA. Isaiah will probably be FA. But the kid has speed and build. Hopefully that time bumped him up to late rounds.

It's true. SDSU officials just fill in the numbers, hand them to the scouts, and they accept it as if it were the bible.

And we would have got away with it too if it weren't for P.I. Lakes!

The QB is the only one who I think could get in a camp. I think all of them are likely to play in a secondary league. I think the JU QB is the best they have had and could get a shot.

Shhhhhhhhhh.... he might hear you.

Well he is a good player, but the guy is a horrid shot beyond 12 feet, and can't hit his free throws. For a guy that gets fouled a lot, it would be a great idea to spend his off season getting better in those areas. As a super star you shouldn't be the player the defense wants you to have the ball in late game situations because they know you can't shoot it, or hit free throws. He is a good player, but not as good as advertised (including the Kia Optima commercials).
