Stacey Bedell is sick, so if he shared an award with him, he must be good. Congrats!

The article just says that he was considering Cuse, not that he hafs a full scholly there. Seems like a good pickup nonetheless.

Yeah frankly, I don't see any high school football players in this country choosing to go to an FCS school over a scholarship offer from a BCS school - even if it's one of the worst BCS schools (which Cuse is not at the very bottom either).

Probably had a walk-on offer.

Syracuse had definitely offered him at one point: http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/barrier_noentry.asp?ReturnTo=&sid=&script=content.asp&cid=1264668&fid=&tid=&mid=&rid=

Whether that offer was still standing here 4 days before national signing day is another story. I think a lot of recruits embellish when they talk about what schools "offered" them. I think there are plenty of guys who chose FCS offers over FBS offers because those FBS offers were no longer there by the time they were ready to decide. Or they make a PWO or grayshirt sound like an full ride offer.

Good get for UNH though. Regardless of whether he was offered by Syracuse or not I'm happy to see kids choose FCS over even a walk-on at an FBS. Better for the quality of the division as a whole.

Seems versatile too...RB or running QB. Coach Carty has some new weapons!

Yes, that's what I was getting at.

Preferred walk-on or grayshirt is not a scholarship offer. It's an opportunity to earn a scholarship if things work out right.

I doubt the kid would have any real shot at playing QB, although it could be quite a useful tool on halfback options to be able to have him air it out from time to time. It will keep those defenses on their toes!
