Which is somewhat annoying when you're a historically successful football program trying to rebuild after a rough season.

Honestly, I have no idea. The WIU athletics department has been playing things "pretty close to the vest". I hadn't really heard any names tossed around before this guy accepted, and I haven't heard anything much since he left.

A few reasons for this guy jumping ship have been tossed around. The "official" one is that there were family reasons. Supposedly he's taking a slightly lower position (on the org chart) at Georgia Southern. I don't know how that helps "family reasons" since he's from Kansas City, but who knows. I would think that something this big would have come up before him being hired and could have been worked through or caused him to be dropped from consideration. It's too bad too, since he seemed like a very promising D Coordinator until this happened.
