How are these players picked? 4 players from a terrible Robert Morris team????

Congrats to James Jenkins! I'm surprised that Brian McNally wasn't selected?

The game is a money making attempt....nothing more, nothing less.

These are far too common. A guy gets a game together, invites some guys who need exposure to play and makes a bundle off the gate.

They need bodies. It's not just a "pure" showcase event like the Senior Bowl in Alabama.

I'd be surprised if they even make a 'bundle'. Would be interesting to see what the 'protections', i.e. insurance for the players, are provided. This is like a 'vanity' directory where people can have their resumes published in some kind of "Who's Who" in their particular profession. I'd be curious as to whether the players even have to pay something to get selected after being "invited". Even if they don't, they're just being used. If you haven't been discovered by any NFL scouts by now, playing in this scrimmage won't do it. Any player who has already received some serious consideration by some NFL scouts wouldn't risk playing in something like this.

Well for doing little more than sending out letters, getting a website together and finding a field, you can make 5-7k. Do that 10-15 times a year for various college divisions and you're set. I knew a guy who did this kind of "all-star" game scam, was his whole income. Kids sign waivers so no insurance needed for them, event insurance is included in the field rental.

Google Terry Sullivan - he has made a career out of promoting various football leagues and all star games both college and "semi-pro" (guys willing to play for no money). This smells a lot like this.

The same crew that put this Senior Scout games also did the NAIA vs Division II game.

The also run the Collegiate Development Football League, which is where Post grads go for one last chance at getting noticed by some college, although I'm not sure any colleges are recruiting these kids nor why they would want to.

It's a business and i don't know for sure, but I expect that these players pay their own travel costs.

What's up with the D2 players on the roster?

As has been posted...it's nothing more than a money-making gimmic for a couple people playing on peoples' vanity. If you want to say you were on an "all star" team, pay the fees and well put a game together for you.
