Texas Southern hired a successful Div II head coach to run the show.
Texas Southern hired Shaw coach Darrell Asberry as its next football coach on Thursday.
Asberry beat out interim coach Kevin Ramsey and a third finalist, said TSU athletic director Charles McClelland. McClelland would not identify the third finalist.
Shaw intends to retain Ramsey as defensive coordinator, McClelland said.
