I'd have to say they were right on with Benford - kid is the best player I've ever seen at TTU and has had NFL scouts all over him. He's "the real deal" and set up a ton of other WR's/RB's by drawing double teams...Of course, I never saw Denham myself and his numbers are pretty damn good. Benford's numbers, although in only 10 games, aren't eye-popping so I see your point, Benford probably gets the nod due to having better pre-season recognition. A lot of OVC coaches last year said he was the best WR the OVC has had in a long time...He needs to be HUGE this Saturday.

You might say TSU and TTU lead the honors if you consider only the players of the year. When you count the first string offense, defense, and special teams, EKU has as many as TSU and TTU combined. 10 of the 25 spots, if I count correctly. Add in the players-of-the-year and EKU still has 10 of 29. Not bad.
Warning: Only 3 of those 10 are seniors.
