Both Howard and Georgetown had October 5 open but, as discussed before, Howard has no interest in scheduling this game.

Who's ducking their chance to schedule meaningful football games more often? Who is stunting their scheduling potential a la the Red Flash and the Ivy League?

Sadly, Georgetown fits both.

Will Villanova ever schedule Georgetown? If not, why not?

Not sure why. Maybe the answer lies with Georgetown? Maybe they don’t want the probable beat down given that Nova rarely loses to a PL team anymore & only Holy Cross has made it a game in recent times.

It takes two to schedule and when you've won just 30 games in 10 seasons Rob Sgarlata isn't looking to take a game at Northern Iowa and have to explain a 60-0 loss to those in the University largely unaware of football. However, the Howard series is a more direct issue: Howard dropped a series with Georgetown to take a pair of guarantee games at Maryland, where the Bison dutifully lost 62-0 and 79-0. They took home two losses and two guarantee checks. The idea of losing to any non-HBCU without a guarantee doesn't sit well there and the prestige of playing Harvard is more impactful than to play the Hoyas. When Howard played its one game at Georgetown, they didn't even choose to send its band, which is all of three miles west of its campus.

If you are aware of a school that really wants to sign a series with Georgetown, I'd like to hear about it. To to the contrary, a number of schools have taken a home game from Georgetown but did not return a game to Washington, most recently Monmouth and Delaware State.

Call the AD at Central Connecticut. I'm confident they would agree to a home/home deal with Georgetown on 2 simple conditions.

1) Have to find matching open dates on the calendar acceptable to both schools.

2) GU to provide CCSU travel party with 1-night lodging for their game in DC.

We are extremely cheap and aren't going down there without some payment/lodging. Finances heavily dictate our schedules.
