Virginia Destroyers general manager Doug Williams is leaving to coach his alma mater, Grambling, for the second time, according to sources within the United Football League.
Williams, the ex-NFL quarterback and NFL personnel official, was named general manager of the fledgling UFL franchise last year. He appeared to be a source of stability for a team that saw two head coaches leave for other opportunities.
Williams also coached at Grambling from 1998-2003. He then became a personnel executive and director of scouting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, before taking the job with the Destroyers.
