I was reading the press release for the television announcement of the Furman v. South Carolina game this season:

"The Paladins defeated the Gamecocks, 28-23, in 1982 in the last meeting between the two schools. South Carolina owns a 26-20-1 advantage over Furman in a series that began in 1892 with a 44-0 Furman victory."

Any other FCS programs own that kind of record against an FBS school? I knew Furman hasn't played USC since the early 80s (excuse me, USC has refused to play us since we whipped their tails), but I was pretty impressed as to how close that series has been over nearly 50 games.

I heard OL FU was even at that 1892 clash. Apparently there was no Sir Paladin as horses had not yet been introduced to the New World.
