Vann makes his mark in the finale

ORLANDO — FAMU return specialist LeRoy Vann changed his attitude at during preseason camp to impress coach Joe Taylor. He ended his the regular season Saturday by setting three NCAA Football Championship Subdivision records.

Vann rewrote the record for most combined returns yards, as well are the mark for most combined returns in a season. He also tied the record for touchdown on combined returns.

All the records were previously set between 1981 and 2004. None of them were on Vann's to-do list — just that he had to play up to Taylor's standards, with help from special teams coach Rod Plummer.

"It was hard work," Vann said following his performance in FAMU's 58-35 victory over Bethune-Cookman University. "Coach Plummer set the right field for me and the blockers blocked for me."
