    What Became Of The Lambert Trophy?

    The Lambert Trophy was awarded beginning in 1936 to the top football team in the East, complete with an awards banquet for each division.

    It disappeared after 2020. What happened to it?

    Much like analog TV, it seems to have quietly died after something better came along. With football, I'm talking about major football conferences with eastern members.

    The ECAC has been dysfunctional for years. I emailed them about it. No response.

    The Lambert was last awarded by the Metropolitan New York Football Writers, owned and operated by American Football Networks, Inc.

    If awarded at end of regular season - Nova. If awarded mid-December - Albany.
