I was a nighttime MBA commuter student in 1983 when I first learned of the lion, back then we only had one. My class was in Keller and the prof was lecturing when I heard this really strange loud sound coming in through the window. It was Leo (the one from that era) warming up for a roar.
There are no greater mascots than Leo and Una and they are well cared for. Visiting fans should make it a point to check out their on campus habitat.
I take pride in how the students, alumni, and fans pass the Lion banks at every game to contribute to their upkeep and care.
