I got the impression… take it for what its worth - that Furman moved on - picking up Dae'one Wilikins to play OLB/Spur that would be the same position I think Shugurt could have played for the Dins.

BTW...FU Spring (winter) practice kicks off today...
Realistically, playing iron man ball and snapping for kicks, I was too tired to do anything besides go back to the huddle. It worked out.

T-minus 3 days until signing day part deux.
Paladins locked in 10 early. They've got another handful that should be signing on the line this week. Fortunately, I do not think Furman is going to have to rely on nearly 30 freshmen playing this season like they did last year, so that should bode well for the depth chart.

Eagles scored in the Super Bowl on the same goalline play Furman attempted against Wofford in Week 1 this year.
I've seen the exact same play run at least four times this season. Furman was the only team that didn't score a touchdown. Dah!

That's the one.

Go to 8:07 mark. The only difference really is that I think the Eagles had the TE in the backfield and he threw the pass instead of the WR. Furman's freshman RT just seemed to run right by the LDE for Wofford, who blew the play up.
Same play, though.

Just for fun, I went back and looked at Southern Pigskin's other years' rankings/Players...and I've bolded the ones that I know/remember as being good Players for the schools listed. Could have, certainly, missed/forgotten about some...don't @ me...

SouPig, apparently, ranked the SoCon Stadiums instead of the Recruiting Classes in 2015. Mercer's Five Star Stadium and Furman's Paladin Stadium were ranked #1 & #2...so I'm good with that.
2016 (Obviously, some/many of these may have 2 or 3 years left to play; so, if they aren't already, they could still become "good players" for their Teams)
1. Chattanooga - Highlights: QB Zach Weatherly, DB Rashun Freeman, TE Jack Keebler, DL Jalen Harvey
2. Samford - Highlights: LB Aaron Atkinson, WR TaDarryl Marshall, OL Nate Lee, DB Kembel Laguines
3. Furman - Highlights: OL/DL Noah Turnley, LB Dru Seabrook, DB Bryan Okeh, QB Avery Armstrong
4. Mercer - Highlights: DB Harrison Poole, OL Jake Flath, RB Charlie Davidson, ATH Julian Burris
5. The Citadel - Highlights: DL AJ Stokes, ATH Gus Karres, OL Drew McEntyre, LB Denzel Wright

9. VMI - Highlights: QB Duncan Hodges, WR Rohan Martin, DB Kaelin Snead, RB Tyain Smith
2017 (SouPig only ranked the Top 5 and showed a Tweet from 1 of those Teams' Signees - that must have taken well over 10 minutes to put together!!!)
1. Mercer - Copied Tweet of composite pic of the Class - No individuals cited
2. Chattanooga - Tweet from UTC about DB Jabril Malone
3. ETSU - Tweet from ETSU about DB Karon Delince
4. Western Carolina - Tweet from QB Dakarai (DJ) Thorpe
5. Furman - Tweet from RB Devin Wynn
