If the hiring of Hauck does in fact occur, he will be the very best coach that UM could possibly have hired. He knows how to coach at UM. He has been incredibly successful at this level. He has the support of all or virtually all of the top financial and other supporters. He is a better coach, and more mature, than when he left. Not aware of any issues since he left. His recruiting areas and knowledge are much bigger and broader, and he was already a terrific recruiter when he was here and before he came to UM. His coaching staff will be strong. He is extremely competitive and he will not allow himself or his teams not to move back towards the top quickly.

Hauck is THE coach the biggest supporters wanted.

Here's a recent post on egriz (not mine):

"Nick Sabin wouldn't win at UNLV.
Hauck's last 4 years in the FCS at Montana he was 31-1 in conference and left riding a 25 conference game win streak...
Hauck would be a huge get for Montana and an even bigger FU to the cats."

This is completely ridiculous. Any big name coach could win at UNLV. They are 5-6 this year. Not that Hauck is a bad hire, but Montana should've looked before deciding. Wyoming is a MUCH harder place to win and Bohl has gone to MW championship, and will have Josh Allen drafted in the 1st round. Also the Big Sky isn't the same conference it was 15 years ago. Neither is the MVFC or CAA. Teams catch up and evolve.

BTW: Where is the news? Any links?

You NDSU fans think Klieman is a potential candidate anywhere?

there is so much misinformation here. Griz fans are brutal and some wanted to run Bobby Hauck out for only being freaking 14-1 for crying out loud. Now those same fans would be happy with 12-2 LOL. I will be surprised if Hauck is actually hired. If he is hired you can bet he will be under pressure to win, which he should do as Stitt was a good recruiter and we should be loaded.

After what Bohl did to NDSU, anything is always possible, but I doubt he would ever go back to UNI. Matt Entz on the other hand, IMO, is the next man up at NDSU for getting a HC at the D1 level.

This is off topic, but if the DC from Clemson Brent Venables gets a new job. Klieman and Dabo are friends, and frequently exchange notes on coaching defenses. Rumor is that he might move to DC at Clemson. Who knows though..
