Well the other nice thing with this is it would open up more dates hence possibly making a bit easier to get those 11th games scheduled.

Clemson and Alabama both played 15 games last year.
With a 12-game schedule, a FCS team could possibly play 17 games in a season, a shorter season at that.
As long as it's optional, I don't care. It will be interesting to see how the vote goes, as I suspect a lot of college presidents will not want a longer schedule, and a significant number of schools will have very poor attendance the week prior to labor day.
No more depressing a stat that Penn is drawing 5,990 a game in Franklin Field. A quick look over at thw NCAA site reveals these attendance numbers in 1982, just 25 seasons ago:
Lehigh at Penn: 11,154
Colgate at Penn: 12,212
Columbia at Penn: 13,563
Yale at Penn: 32,175
Harvard at Penn: 34,756

Georgetown: "We play where we do not compete, and compete where we do not play."
Not sure it is really needed in FCS.
I don't see the point of this. There's no money in FCS football. It's too hard to find 3 sensible OOC games, let alone 4.
