    Pro Days

What noise is coming out of y'alls pro days?

S David Jones ran (now confirmed) a 4.43s and a 4.45s 40, jumped 34" vert, 10'9 broad. The 40 time and broad jump would have both been top 5 at the combine for safeties. Other players participating were LB Omar Howard, WR Brian Brown, DL Winston Craig, and some ex-players.

That would be an impressive 40 for Jones if accurate.

NDSU's isn't for another couple weeks. I have heard LB Beck will participate after passing last year due to injuries.

Gil Brandt is pretty accurate at NFL.com for official scout recorded numbers. So far he only has Montana State and Portland State. Here is the FCS/Pro day schedule.

NFL scouts and coaches might not have immediately recognized Tyler Renew on Tuesday, but South Carolina players did.
“Hey, you're that running back from The Citadel,” Gamecock players said as Renew walked in for USC's pro day.
Renew, a Bulldogs hero from The Citadel's 23-22 win at USC in 2015, joined 15 former Gamecocks as they worked out for scouts and coaches representing 17 NFL teams and one team from the Canadian Football League at South Carolina's football facilities in Columbia.

“It was a lot of fun,” said Renew, who earned All-America honors at The Citadel while rushing for 1,096 yards and four touchdowns last season. “It was an awesome experience, and I was glad to be able to go up there and be in that environment. I'm really pleased with how I did.”
Renew, who has been working hard to add weight while improving speed and strength, measured in at 5 feet, 11½ inches and 231 pounds, about 14 pounds above his playing weight at The Citadel.
That puts him closer in physical stature to NFL fullbacks such as USC graduate Patrick DiMarco (6-1, 243) and Mike Tolbert (5-9, 243).
Renew tested faster in the 40-yard dash than those two; he was timed between 4.57 and 4.64 seconds in the benchmark sprint on Wednesday, compared with DiMarco (4.92) and Tolbert (4.75), a veteran from Coastal Carolina.
Renew also set a personal best with 19 bench-press reps at 225 pounds; posted a time of 4.2 seconds in the shuttle run; and was measured at 32 inches in the vertical jump and 9 feet, 6 inches in the broad jump.

Interesting tid bit about NDSU's pro day, our senior center in BB Dexter Werner will give it a go, he's 6'-6" and 225 currently, played TE in highschool. Will be interesting to see if he gets a camp invite and how he does.

He always looked like a football player in a basketball uniform to me.

    Compared to Combine LBs

    Bench - 1st by 5 reps

    Vert - 1st by an 1.5"

    40 - 2nd behind Peppers (a safety/lb tweener) by .02 seconds

    Broad - 4th

    20 shuttle - 1st

    3 cone - 4th

    Wow, pretty crazy numbers.

Could probably say that about a lot of different players across the FCS landscape in recent years. Dude is definitely a stud no doubt, I can understand GodHelps frustration when you get a player like that, SDSU fans were like that most of the year for basketball.
