    Re: CAA/Yankee Divorce?

LFN I am not sure what your point is. FCS schools are losing money and the amount is increasing. The FBS schools are losing less money and in FIU's case making money.
    FAU is renting a stadium...

These schools football teams are less than 10 yrs old and don't have the following you have which gives you a major advantage. You have better fan support, a larger game day attendance and raise...

    Re: CAA/Yankee Divorce?

Dane what is your analysis of the following information? I don't think UMass needs to raise that much money.

Their AD has mentioned on a number of occasions the number $100M in order for Mass to...

    Re: CAA/Yankee Divorce?

I think a school can start a program at the FCS level and move to the FBS level in a lower level conference as we have seen in the Sun Belt with FAU and FIU. Both of their programs are less then 10...

    Re: CAA/Yankee Divorce?

Monitoring their board it looks like the move to FBS is gaining momentum. They present a good Economic case for making the move.

Re: Keeler implies JMU started an arms race in the CAA

A couple of comments. Buffalo hired a new AD and Coach a few years ago. Last year they played in a Bowl game. They upgraded their 17K seat facility to 30k seats. I read it isn't a very nice...

I don't know everything, the NE schools have done. Their posters will have to answer. They have done incremental improvements.

Hasn't GSU already stated they want to move to FBS? I will see if I can find the link.

I don't think UMass will ever be in the Big East. They can't afford it. BC - ACC and Conn - Big East...

    Re: CAA/Yankee Divorce?

    UNH in CT,
I am not sure how important the AQ is. I think it is less important to recruits than the quality of the opposition of the OOC teams.
I would advocate a bye week after the 10'th game...

    Re: CAA/Yankee Divorce?

The "arms race" will continue, and it will grow as the economy improves and the competition for athletes continues. The next step will be to increase the size of coaching staffs.
    Maine, NH, and URI...
  14. Re: FCS Super Conference - how would it compare with FBS?

I think that (post 95) is a good start. Discussion among the Athletic Directors with the formation in 2011 gives the CAA time to organize and schedule.

    Re: A New Yankee Conference?

Umass is about 100 miles, less than 2hours from Albany. I expect that we will develop a rivalry as soon as you upgrade. The UMass Stadium - McGuirk Stadium - has a seating capacity of 17K. You are...
  17. Re: FCS Super Conference - how would it compare with FBS?

  18. Re: FCS Super Conference - how would it compare with FBS?

I would rather watch a higher level of play every week and there is no doubt the Sun Belt teams have better players across the board than any CAA team. The Sun Belt teams do award 85 scholarships...
  19. Re: FCS Super Conference - how would it compare with FBS?

I agree and would like to see a FBS for half the CAA teams and would expect half the teams in the CAA to remain at the FCS level.
I would like to see both managed by the CAA. They could use a new...

Re: Would a Chatty expansion help in the future?

    Re: CAA major recruits

Have to agree with you. I wouldn't consider the URI job coveted. Of course that depends on how large of a recruiting budget and coaches discretionary fund the coach will get.
