You said you gave them "all the credit in the world". If that was so, you would have said "nothing we could do could have beaten them". Since you say NDSU miscues contributed, that is denying UNI...

A few years ago, three-way ties were broken by a literal drawing of straws by representatives of each school. Don't know if they changed that or not, but it stuck in my memory.

Home team always underreports attendance in the postseason because they have to pay less money to the NCAA that way.
And why wouldn't it be? It's what we do best, always has been.
Don't forget that Cookeville hosts the high school football championship games the weekend after Thanksgiving. Would they even be able to host that weekend?
I don't believe this is happening.
TSU brings more to the conference than any of the other member schools. It is not surprising (nor inappropriate) that the conference would give concessions to them to gain their membership.
As a receiver, possibly.
Any instance of good officiating by an OVC crew is purely coincidental.
Will you still be sanctioned next year?
They have to give a portion of the gate to the NCAA for playoff games. They purposely underreport to make more money.
I'd rather beat MTSU than win the OVC, though that's a I-A/I-AA thing so maybe it doesn't count.
Otherwise, I'd rather win the conference over any of the lesser rivalries we have now.
We might need to take all the best players from the OVC schools, combine them into one team, and try to win a playoff game that way.
But yes, congrats EIU, and we'll all be rooting for you next...
My conference's auto-qualifier, of course. Hey, we've got to win one eventually.
Possibly because they are playing purely for pride. Nothing else to motivate them. And they're doing it well.
Oh, please no. We get enough (somewhat deserved) grief about our auto-bid as it is.
All I could remember was a few years ago when he would always joke that he wanted to play Samford as a tune-up game.
I read posts just like this one in a 2003 AGS thread about UTC picking up a I-A transfer.
It's all about public relations. Congress knows that virtually all college football fans want a playoff, and there's no downside to fighting the "good ol' boys network" that allegedly runs that sport.
Congrats, Richmond fans.
For as long as I've been a member of this message board (summer 2003), Tech ALWAYS gets mentioned in these SoCon expansion possibility threads as if they are an obvious choice. I am as mystified by...
The Suing Sioux.
Well, Murray State is this tiny college in the middle of nowhere, Kentucky.
The OVC doesn't have to prove anything to deserve an auto-bid. We could lose a hundred straight years in the playoffs and still deserve it just as much as the Gateway. We offer the same amount of...
