The MountainPirates will, again, open the season with an FBS G5 Transfer taking the snaps. Worked out so well for them last year, I guess.

Go with what you know.
Looks like my money's on him too. Backup QB looks to be a horse race between Tyler Riddell and Trey Mitchell.
Re: SoCon 2019 Off-Season
per twitter… Furman has picked up a transfer from Air Force.
Clark Daniel 6-3 285 Thomaston, GA
played at Upson-Lee
per FuBear, offers: Samford, The Citadel, Air Force, Western Carolina, Mercer, Florida A&M, Wofford, & Army
will have three years of eligibility
Re: SoCon 2019 Off-Season
Furman just posted an interview with CCH after this mornings practice. Clay continues to say that he feels they're now getting the players needed to run what they want to run. Very impressed with the quality of depth Furman appears to be developing.

Re: SoCon 2019 Off-Season
Hendrix has done a great job for the Paladins. Furman had become a good defensive team, that for whatever reason was always injury laden, with a terrible offense. Of course that's what we became in 2017, but during that game (2017) I remember having flashbacks to Felton running over us during the mid 00's. That Paladin team looked nothing like the team the year before to me. Huesman had a similar effect at Chattanooga when he arrived in 2009. We had the majority of the same players we had in 2008 (when we were 1-11) , but looked (and felt) like a whole new team. I'm hoping Wright can do the same for us this year.

What has been noticeable is a renewed focus on fundamentals, recruiting, conditioning, and depth.

I hope you win all your games except Furman ! let's get some good SoCon OOC wins

https://mercerbears.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7287 - no number assigned, but he’s on there. As previously stated (before being retracted), I think he might provide some help to Mercer’s WR corps this season...assuming he can stop yo-yo’ing off & on the roster.
BTW...I was thinking about matchups today. Can SoCon DB’s & LB’s match up with Mercer’s WR’s size, particularly if they decide to deploy a 4 or 5-Wide BIG package & incorporate some of their ‘flex’ TE’s in those personnel groupings...If a couple of these FR (Flex) TE’s are as good as I think they are, I see 1 possible, reasonable grouping where the Bears could go 5 wide & average 6-3 / 224 with their Wides. The Falcons’ All-Everything FREAK WR, Julio Jones, is 6-3/220. Just sayin’...
* Returning Starters or ‘Regulars’ in

** “Flex” is FUBeAR’s designation based upon how they have been used at Mercer and/or were used in HS, i.e., quite often split out from the OT’s by 3+ yards or more.

To, I hope, put an end to the Duncan Yo-Yo appearances of CCU Transfer WR, Stephen Peterson, on & off of Mercer’s roster, he has been assigned a number now..and he has a bio now!

BTW...you UGa and/or Ohio State Fans May recognize that QB slingin’ the ball to Peterson. Just imagine what #19 will be able to do with Robert Riddle, instead of that hack, as his QB. ;)
