Big 10 is reconsidering ban on FCS games for years in which a Big 10 team only play 4 of 9 conference games at home. But for now .. we are banned thanks to Barry Alvarez's efforts ... and UNI for nearly beating Wisconsin in 2012.
The ban has already been officially revised.
We've got Illinois next year, but that was grandfathered in from before the ban. Past that we're all across the board: Big 12, Mountain West, MAC, Sun Belt.
Good news is that if we're playing good football those years, we have a decent shot at winning most of them. Not U of I or OK State probably, but the rest are Colorado State, Ball State, and South Alabama...which are beatable if we play well and get a bit of luck on our side.
The B1G should just ****ing spell it out. "No games against top FCS teams will be scheduled because we are afraid of losing to them. We will only be scheduling weaklings for cheap home wins."
Well...yeah...duh. The BIG's problem is that their local FCS schools are MVFC schools and too damn good to schedule...not easy wins. The SEC doesn't have this problem as there are plenty of local patsies for them to schedule. Heck, even a mediocre (at best) USD team was able to beat the Gophers in 2010. Just too much talent on these MVFC teams. Fortunately the Big 12 is still willing to schedule, though I don't know why after NDSU took down K-State.
USD future Big 12 games:
2018 - Kansas State
2019 - Oklahoma
2020 - Iowa State
2021 - Kansas
I don't expect a win against K-State, may be doable but would be very tough. OU, that would shock the world. Against ISU and KU, absolutely expect to win provided Coach Nielson is still here and the program continues to build on the same trajectory.
Both SDSU and USD have way to many casual fans where these practices are needed to keep seats in the hands of the home team when you have a great traveling fan base like the Bison do. Nothing wrong with what the Jacks are doing.
Not surprised Humper76 shows his unwavering homer biased by thinking what SDSU is doing is different from what USD did/does. Or a lot of other teams for that matter. Way to be a realistic poster again tool bag.

To my recollection they only did that to the 2012 game in Sioux Falls. For the 2014 and 2016 games they didn't do that... they just held single game sales of the NDSU game until late in October I believe which was only a few weeks before the game both years. Both tactics seem very similar but USD held tickets much longer than SDSU is before selling to the general public.
EDIT: Looked it up on the Bisonville bitching threads and in 2014 the game was 10/25 and USD started selling to the general public on 10/17. In 2016 the game was on 11/19 and they started selling tickets to the general public on 11/2.
