Go Lehigh TU Owl, I believe you are overstating it a bit.
Colgate can play anyone - and as many games as it chooses - outside the conference.
That game against Cal Poly SLO is intriguing, though.

Cal Poly would be great. (And in my neighborhood.) Anybody who wants to make the necessary changes to a minimum of three teams' schedules has my blessing. Also, as far as Colgate playing ten games being "quite frankly a slap in the face to the rest of the league," I hope the other teams are OK. Maybe Bucknell can tickle Lehigh for a bit to make them feel better.
Since we're hosting WIU this year, I took a shot at comparing our two schedules to see if I could figure out where that game might fall. Here's what I came up with for the Leathernecks:
09/02/17 - ?
09/09/17 - @ Northern Arizona
09/16/17 - ?
09/23/17 - @ Coastal Carolina
09/30/17 - vs. South Dakota
10/07/17 - @ Northern Iowa
10/14/17 - vs. Missouri State
10/21/17 - @ North Dakota State
10/28/17 - vs. South Dakota State
11/04/17 - @ Illinois State
11/11/17 - @ Indiana State
11/18/17 - vs. Southern Illinois
Cal Poly is certainly willing to travel. Just saw them play Men's BB vs. Princeton at Jadwin Gym. I understand they accepted a very modest guarantee to come east and play an early afternoon game on New Year's Eve. Maybe they could do a home-and-home in FB with Colgate....
Why not play a 8 game schedule and only worry about league games? When the rest of the league is playing 11 game schedules it's a weak move by Colgate to believe it's ok to play 10 two years in a row. There's simply no excuse for it.
Hopefully the committee would penalize an 8-2 or 7-3 Colgate for their decision to dodge an 11th game.
