Bearkats Report for 2005 Fall Camp Sunday

HUNTSVILLE -- Ninty football players will report for preseason camp Sunday afternoon (August 7) as Todd Whitten begins his first season as Sam Houston State University head coach.

The Bearkats welcome back 44 lettermen including 13 starters from last year's Sam Houston State team that won the Southland Conference co-championship, reached the NCAA Division I-AA national semifinals, and earned an I-AA final national ranking of number four with its 11-3 record.

Whitten succeeds Ron Randleman who retired in December after 23 seasons at the helm of the Bearkat program.
