Street and Smith's 2017 NEC preseason predictions
1. Duquesne
2. St. Francis (PA)
3. Robert Morris
4. CCSU
5. Wagner
6. Sacred Heart
7. Bryant
Quick Notes from the article:
- Noted that FBS QB transfer Tommy Stuart from Boise State could be the next QB for the Dukes. Also watch for Maryland transfer Brett Zanotto at the TE position. Plus they have one of the best RB in the nation.
- St. Francis has one of the top WRs in the FCS, could see a true Fr at QB this season with Jason Brown getting the job.
- Noted that RMU spent last season as the youngest team and will draw on that experience. Still unsettled at the QB position, article believes that Jimmy Walker could be the answer.
- CCSU could have the best QB in the NEC with Jacob Dolegala. Need to rebuild that DL.
- Wagner could have the best QB-WR combo with QB Thomson (6'5") and WR Williams (6'6"). Lots of questions on the defensive side of the ball.
- Big question for SHU is who is going to replace Noel at QB. Kevin Duke will get the 1st crack. Lots of holes on D.
- New head coach for Bryant, James Perry, will have his work cut out. 3 returnees on O and 4 on D. Marty Fine retired and then took a D2 job in New Mexico.
Re: Street and Smith's 2017 NEC preseason predictions
I can't argue with this. If StFU finds a QB they'll challenge for the title. If not, they could drop to 3rd or 4th, although I think they're defense will be pretty good this year.
I'm anxious to see how RMU performs this season. I have to think Banaszak is coaching for his job this fall.

So is Rossomondo at CCSU.

Does Wagner have the horses to take out Lehigh who will have a great offense but dismal D?

You only need one horse to beat le high. A lame one would do.

I was kind of surprised that Wagner was picked 5th - but perhaps I have an over-inflated opinion of them since they were the only NEC team to beat the Red Flash last year. I thought Wagner's offense was legit - but I think Lehigh's offense is better and will be too much for them.

That's a hella schedule for someone trying to keep a job.
I noted that the YSU game is called a 'Hall of Fame' game. There's a new stadium on the grounds of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. Any chance that you're playing there?
