Do you take "unknown" 1 or 2 loss teams (Brown, Holy Cross, Alabama State, Jackson State)?

Do you take 3 or (eek!) 4 loss teams from "power conferences" (Richmond, W&M, Eastern Washington)?

Do you take 1 or 2 loss teams from non-power conferences with big losses last week (Tennessee Tech, Coastal Carolina, South Dakota)?

Do you take 1 or 2 loss teams that have suspect schedules (North Dakota)?

Or do you go out there and take a PFL team (San Diego, Jacksonville) with one or two losses to middling power conference teams but an undefeated run in PFL play?

Tough week to pick.

I find ranking down to about 35 each week helps; there will always be statistical noise in the 20-25 range until any poll starts having its balloters rank down to 30-35 anyway.

It's also always good to go back and look at the last week's ballot and re-evaluate each team that you didn't have in your ballot.

There are easily 8-10 teams that could fit those slots. Of course population tends to shift a lot week to week. Put 'em all into a hat and pick out 5. Cant be too far off methinks

I wouldn't even begin to consider a PFL team this year.

These are not even close to Top 25 resumes:

Sep 10 - L at Western Ill, 21-35
Sep 17 - W vs. Char Southern, 37-30
Sep 24 - W at Campbell, 57-21
Oct 1 - W at Marist, 21-9
Oct 8 - W vs. Dayton, 34-26
Oct 15 - W vs. Morehead State, 50-14

San Diego Toreros
Sep 3 - W at Azusa Pacific, 42-40
Sep 10 - W vs. West New Mex, 30-10
Sep 17 - L at UC Davis, 3-31
Sep 24 - W at Morehead State, 48-44
Oct 1 - W vs. Davidson, 42-0

UND has played only 2 FCS teams so their resume is very poor with 2 NAIA teams, so if you don't rank them or rank them lower (had a bye last week) its understandable. But I hope UND can be ranked or ranked higher if we beat Cal Poly on Saturday. That should show where this team is headed. According to Massey UND is predicted to finish 9-2 with FCS wins over Cal Poly, UC Davis, USD, and N. Colorado which would be a perfect season for UND fans, and a great way to close out our transition.

Same as how I rank 1-17 -- assign a value to the wins and let the rankings fall where they will. No, "good" losses don't help - who you beat is all that matters.
