Former Mcneese State Kicker - John Marino was killed in a car accident this morning in covington, La.. Marino graduated after the 2004 season.

Two men died in a car accident Saturday morning when the vehicle they were traveling in struck a tree in front of St. Paul’s School.

The mangled Mustang Cobra is removed following a crash that left two dead.
John Marino, 25, was driving his Mustang Cobra north on Jahncke Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when he lost control of his car and crashed.
Covington rescue workers had to cut the driver and the 28-year-old passenger, Earl Carr, out of the vehicle.
Carr died at the scene. Marino was taken to St. Tammany Parish Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Lieutenant Wade Sharp of the Covington Police department said a preliminary investigation into the wreck indicates that the vehicle exceeded speeds of 100 mph when Marino lost control of the car, and struck the oak tree.
Lt. Sharp also said that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
