Rhody regressed from last week,Probst still plays like it is a sand-lot game.
The conference appears to be a little weaker,so that might help.
Must win next two to have shot at 5-6 win season.
Really thought they had more to play for than UMASS.
Rams did not quit, but really were not deserving.
Rhody's receivers and UMASS RB's are exceptional.
In CAA,you have to be a better team, getting lucky won't cut it.

Hernandez is the best back in the CAA and FCS for that matter. Now that its his turn everyone will see. Hes not really splitting time this year so his numbers will improve over last season(a season which he ended up i believe 2nd in the caa in rushing).

Hernandez was awesome against JMU last year. He's the real deal for sure.

It looked like Probst couldn't handle the speed of his receivers. Baskerville, Johnson-Farrell and Morgan are all very fast and had to keep slowing down for under thrown balls.

URI looked like ... well URI.
They are everyone's sentimental second favorite team in the CAA, but have no running game, no short passing game, and an offense that consists entirely of chucking the ball up for grabs deep every 5 or 6 plays (which they did to some success agaist UMass' young and green secondary). Their defense is decent but not overpowering, helped out by a UMass QB who must have had 4 or 5 delay of game pens for letting the play clock run out. UMass was hardly overpowering, but I saw lots of potential. Pagel could be the real deal if he finds the touch on his pass (he threw it 20 yards over the head of his receivers on 3 or 4 occasions) and manages the huddle better. We got J-Hern, which is comforting, but he won't last the season if he needs to carry it 32 times per game. Bring on the Eagles! Let's make BC wish they HAD hired Whipple.

Forgot to ask... what's with the blue stripes on the UMass helmets?

Red, white and blue is to honor the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The UMass team was led on to the field with Julian Talley carrying the American Flag.

Oct 15 - Newark - AP v Hernandez - FCS football at its best!

Ill take that matchup because UMass's run D is great this season. They shut down both URI and Holy Cross. Granted its early and only after two games but they rank 7th giving up only 65 yards a game.
