Nicholls State cornerback Chiku Madu was named the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week and his teammate Cory Kemps, a punter, was named the league's special teams player of the week for their roles in the Colonels game at Western Michigan, the conference office announced Monday. Additionally, Central Arkansas receiver Jesse Grandy was recognized as the offensive player of the week for leading the Bears to a near upset at Louisiana Tech.
