As I understand it, the Nashville Sports Council bought out WKU's 2 home games in a 2 for 1 series with Kentucky. Kentucky agreed to play WKU on the road if it was in Nashville, not Bowling Green. Lots of UK'ers in the N'ville area. HOwever, officials said it was a terrible ticket sale and would probably take a bath on it this year.

According to Lex Herald Newspaper and uk fans......
1. WKU was able to arrange a home and home (?) game with UK by going to Lex last year and playing UK in Nashville this year, this counts as a home game for WKU. (Got get those FBS attendance numbers someway, guess UK would not go to Bowling Green and Titans Stadium holds big numbers). Bowling Green, Ky is about an hour drive from Nashville and UK fans have turned out in droves when they played bowl games in N-ville, guess they expected both team's fans to buy into this game venue.
2. ESPN broadcast is the reason the game is on at 9 pm on Thursday night. Late game on a week/work/school night=smaller crowd.
3. According to the Lex Herald newspaper WKU officials expected to sale over
30, 000 tickets and as of today's Lex Herald they were way behind those numbers (somewhere in the low 20,000)
Two KY teams playing on a week night in another state which has no love for KY teams xconfusedx. Looks like it did not work out as planned attendance wise, but on the other hand if WKU pulls this out, guess they will be happy campers?????

Why are they playing a DIII school? Everyone was mad at Nicholls State for playing three FBS and hurting their playoff chances. But DIII wins don't count toward playoff eligibility (I think) and with the game against Baylor a likely loss, that's two games that don't help you a bit.

Here's the story I heard about McMurry. They asked to schedule as many FCS and FBS Texas teams as they can in a few years as they want to move to FCS (They go to UTSA next week), and they want to show their admin what they need in terms of funding and talent. Needless to say..the answer is a lot.

They claim to have had 8,500 students in attendance, so the 26,000+ claim is suspect.

I will say that four teams in CAU's conference are pretty good...Morehouse, Fort Valley State(our opponent today), Albany State, and Tuskegee...everybody else in that conference is suspect.

Southern is a very good team. The adjusted well in the 2nd half and CCSU got sloppy up 28-0 at half.

We spotted JU 9 points and then it has been all Dogs since. At first it looked like more of the same from last year as we had two fumbles and one turnover on downs, but we worked out the jitters and the O looks pretty good now. Our defense is definitely good, better than last year's pretty good D. Now that the O is keeping them off the field, we are going to be able to compete in most of our games this year, I think.
