That's the only one that really has me scratching my head. That game and these are knotted at the top in this early report:
New Hampshire @ UC Davis
Appalachian State @ Eastern Kentucky
Southern @ McNeese State

Yes, the SOCON voters have reared their heads so far - with a little more uumph I'm sure we can look forward to GA Southern's entire schedule. I'm not sure, though, the best way to open up a tv campaign is to have Northeastern host the first game. Any chance if this game does win out that the game is moved to a neutral field with, say, stands, or that Georgia Southern hosts the game???

While I would like to see it I was not a homer with the Northeaster v. GSU. I voted for App st v. Easter Kentucky. Kinda of a shocker to me to but not sure you can ignore a A-10 v. SoCon game they always seem to turn out pretty good.

I'm smarting from a lack of PL representation! Perhaps we should weight the scores based on the size of the student body/size of the alumni! :o

I've posted on several Sam boards, not just the BSF, a few weeks ago. Hopefully people are still viewing those posts, but I'll boost them back up nonetheless.

Oh, man. How the times have changed. State is now garnishing more Game of the Week votes than UM. What is this world coming to? :D It's too bad that our best games have to compete with great SoCon and A10 matchups. Are there not any games that would be as intriguing as North Dakota State vs. Montana State on 9-24-05? Please tell me that there is.

Is Montana State and Montana both going to be rated in the top 10?

I put the Northern Iowa vs. Western Kentucky game as my game of the year. That game will be tight, and both should probably be top 10 teams, as well as going for the conference championshp, since it's the second to last game of conference.

GSU vs Furman for the Socon championship, and likely the #1 seed.

In light of the release of the AGS pre-season poll, I'm compelled to campaign for Furman at JSU for the Week 1 game.

A Thursday night, televised, first-week matchup between the pre-season #2 & #19 teams, and a rematch of a first-round playoff game from the previous year. Sounds like a big game to me.

If you haven't voted yet, why not pick this one for Week 1 game of the week?

Who's televising it? I'd watch it.

Hopefully CSTV. :D

Word here when the series was announced was that Fox SportSouth or Comcast/Charter would televise, and that that was the reason for the Thursday game. The JSU athletic department hasn't even officially announced the full sked though, so we'll see.

13 has a point. The alumni base of the PL schools are very small compared to the A-10's, SoCons, OVC's, etc. We just don't have the raw numbers to pack the ballot box. Such is democracy :(

Well Furman and Wofford are PL sized schools too.
