Its a New York Times owned paper.
The coverage is not much better especially for a community of ~150,000.

Thanks for the help, AGS fans. The poll, of course, is meaningless. But this newspaper's in our backyard. Maybe it'll get 'em thinking about assigning a beat writer to cover our games. OK, so that's far too optimistic. But perhaps visitors to their site will stop and think about us for a second.

In the Birmingham News football preview, there was an ad for some credit union. The ad had a picture of some lady with football pennants behind her. In addition to Alabama, Auburn and UAB, they also had ones from Jax State, Samford and Birmingham-Southern. I was floored they had anyone other than the main three FBS schools (and mildly shocked they had UAB).

The poll runs through Friday. Thanks for all your help, AGS fans. Perhaps there's been an effect on the Times' coverage already: the lead story since yesterday afternoon has been about JSU coach Jack Crowe doing the obligatory ladies-learnin-football appearance at a Gadsden hospital. (OK, but the lead? If that ain't the definition of a slow news day, I don't know what is.)
