That looks pretty reasonable.

I don't like being picked 5th, when I think this might be one of "our" better years...but, I can't really disagree with it, either.

I'd like to think EIU will improve over last year, but there's nothing to really be too sure about.

One Colonel on the Offensive side of the ball. Not good. The current TE is a BEAST & the new OC better get him the d*mn ball this year. I am glad D wins championships!

I hope you right because we are in the same boat.

Settle down, your new RB transfer will be on that list very soon. EKU's running game has been nule & void since Mr. Kidd left.

I think by the end of the yr, more Colonels on the O side will step up (i.e.- Tyrone Goard WR 6-4 201 Jr., Chris Moore WR 6-2 215 SR., & H.B. Banjoman RB 5-10 235 Sr). Just to name a few.

Looking at the poll again, I think I would flip SEMO and UT Martin.

Like SEMO last year? ;) Hopefully they're wrong again and SEMO lands at the top ;)

Prediction - OVC AQ continues the post season streak. Especially since JSU is out the mix.

Prediction - OVC QA continues the post season streak. Epically since JSU is out the mix.

Why is JSU out of the 'mix' ? Did I miss something?

Has something changed with the postseason ban on JSU Gamecocks due to APR? If the (predicted) best team from the conference is a no show in the playoffs, it definitely increases the chances of the streak continuing if the AQ is the 2nd place finisher.

Jacksonville State was in the playoffs last year. Postseason ban for Jax. St was for 2009 only.

The Gamecocks only face post-season restrictions in basketball, not football.

But I digress...

Great to actually see some conversation about OVC on AGS! As we all know, the preseason predictions are just that. It all matters on where your team is at the END of the year. I think there will be another Racer or two in the mix for post-season honors when the dust settles. The entire MSU line returns with some talent and there is loads of WR talent. Good luck to all with out-of-conference success. That will help the conference for multi-team playoff consideration. Dangit, let's win some playoff games!

Sorry all - I read each of those articles multiple times, to try to make certain I was keeping all of the Jackson's straight. Uugh - probably should tackle that when I have more than 4 hours sleep.

How about solving the issue by changing Jacksonville State University's name to Gamecock State University? That would totally clear up the confusing name/acronym situation...

Not a problem at all...Hey, are you and the rest of the UNI faithful cheering on TTU vs the Hawkeyes in Sept? I'll be there! Any advice on making the trip more enjoyable?

Only advice is that parking is any where in town is a nightmare. Just accept that going into it.

There are no commerical eating / drinking establishments around the area of the stadium, other than the tailgate. The Airliner downtown is great if you like Chicago style pizza - it would be a long wait, as it is a popular place at the University of Illinois at Iowa City (inside joke - there are a ton of students from the Chicago area that attend Iowa). It would be about a 15-20 minute walk from the stadium. Once downtown, there are numerous eating drinking options.

Get some revenge for EIU, Iowa won 37-7 last year.
