1. You can correctly name the four classifications in which college football teams play while paid ESPN talking heads can't seem to.

2. You actually know that the term "Ivy League" refers to a sports conference and not some official academic classification.

3. You actually know the Ivy League teams play football and in Division I to boot!

4. You're white and you can name more HBCU's than the vast majority of college-educated black people.

5. You aren't foolish enough to to buy into the argument that playoffs in college football devalue the regular season and you realize that they produce more interesting matchups than the bowl system does.

6. You don't think the team ranked number 1 in human and computer polls is a shoo-in to win a national championship.

Can anyone else think of some other good ones?

You're the only one in your group of BCS fan friends who looks forward to the South Dakota/Wisconsin matchup or the North Dakota State/Minnesota matchup.

On a fall Saturday night, you're watching Northern Iowa/Western Illinois on DirectTV channel 1,243,653 instead of the Ohio State/Penn State game on ABC. And you realize the game you're watching is more interesting.

You can proudly say to your BCS buddies that "My team competes for the Division I National Football Championship!!", and you would be correct.

.......You wonder why UNC-Tweetsie fans are so obsessed with Charlotte 49er football.

Charlotte started in 1946 and has NEVER closed its doors since then. Not sure why you think the school was "completely new" in 1964. It simply joined the UNC system then....surely even you know this....and you KNOW you're wrong on the FSL "goal". The goal was to raise approximately $5m from FSl sales and we've raised more than $4.5M just from FSLs to this point. The 5000 number was simply assuming 5000 of the $1000 FSLs, but we later added a $2500 FSL option. This explains how we've basically reached the goal in dollars which of course was the actual goal. Note: we've raise much more if you include all the unannounced corporate/large gifts as well.

Top Ten reasons….

You might be an FCS football fan if...

10. … When trying to explain your team to somebody you still mess up the 'fcs', 'fbs', 'fca', 'fbcs' or whatever those confusing letters mean anyway….xconfusedx

You might also be an FCS football fan if...

9. … you notice that when you tried to explain to a Neb or OKla fan that, yes, THAT college does have a football team, you noticed there was absolutely NO difference between the two: it was the exact same glassy-eyed look that came over all their faces at the exact same time….xnodx

You might also be an FCS football fan if...

8. … you are really good now at giving your relatives geography lessons on where those first couple games were, and thought about fudgin’ a little on the actual name of the team yours was playing….xeyebrowx

Or, you might be an FCS football fan if...

7. … you notice that the local fans are more friendly, genuine and “real” than the FBS snobs, and at least half the food and drink you consumed was given you by some smiling person wishing you well, just not your team… xcoolx

You could be an FCS football fan if...

6. … you heard it was a big game but you look around the stadium at halftime and you’re still wondering where all the people are, thinking - traffic must horrible someplace, or - the ticket takers just aren’t any good, or - the students must be out on break, or, “These people must have lousy marketing”…. xoopsx

You might be an FCS football fan if...

5. … you think the game must be close to over even though it’s not even halftime – just look at that score up there…. ;)

You might also be an FCS football fan if...

4. … you heard your new kicker was going to be really good this year, and he still only kicks off to the 18 yard line - when he doesn’t kick it out of bounds, that is…. xbawlingx

You might be an FCS football fan if...

4. … you have no problem ordering the top of the line seats at the visitors’ stadium, proclaiming loudly to your friends “Money is no object” (compared to sitting in the visitor section with the same old people yellin’ the same old stuff for only about ten bucks less)…. xnodx

You would be a real FCS football fan if...

3. If you bought early tickets for the Frisco game as soon as they came out, - and went anyway…. xbowx

You might be an FCS football fan if...

2. … you find yourself rooting for every FCS player you used to hate with a passion but now it’s NFL draft day and you hope that jerk goes high in the first round…. xrotatehx

And the number 1 reason: ….

You might be an FCS football fan if...

1. … You’re absolutely certain until your dying day that it would’ve been YOUR team in Frisco if they had only had those darned replays back then….xwhistlex

FCS fans wonder why East Tennessee was forced out of the SoCon because they were dropping football and why the SoCon then has several schools that do not play football.

From what I heard, ETSU canned football because their soon-to-be retiring president wanted to turn it into a top-flight medical school (pharmacy school, dental school) at the expense of athletics. Personally, I hope ETSU gets a leader who will allows its athletics program to grow by leaps and bounds instead of languishing in the A-Sun.

...if you have spent time at a game at a FBS school explaining how the FCS is still "real" football, a step above D-II and D-III and that the three are not the same.

...if you spend more of your Saturdays in the fall watching your computer for FCS score updates or games than you do any of the FBS games on TV.

...AGS is among your top 3 most visited websites.

...citdog. Enough said.

Excellent. If you haven't done both of these, you're not a FCS fan. Period.
