Well, at least they have a I-AA/FCS Head Coach. Now if they can just raise the FB program to FCS.

Seriously, Landis is a good guy and I'm very happy for him.

Little strange. He left Bucknell saying he found a better opportunity at San Jose State, and he wanted to go back to the West Coast. He appeared to be in very hot water at Bucknell, but he wasn't officially fired. Now he leaves San Jose even though the guy that hired him is still there.

If all of these moves were voluntary it makes no sense. Leave Bucknell to go to San Jose, only to leave a year later to become HC at a D-III school. Either he really wanted to be at San Jose and flamed out, or he just fled Bucknell before he was fired.

Pretty nice facilities for a D-III Program, wish Gtown could learn from these guys!

Landis was the OC on a San Jose St. that considerably overscheduled (Alabama, Wisconsin, Utah) and finished 1-12, with its only win being a five point win over Southern Utah.

If their prospects weren't looking much better for 2011, he would have been a candidate for an early exit, and probably prefers being a head coach on his own terms.

Unlike Georgetown, Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute was able to spend $92,000,000 for the East Campus Athletic Village (http://rpi.edu/tour/ecav/index.html)

RPI is in the Liberty League, a fine conference with three schools who play D-I hockey - Saint Lawrence, Clarkson and RPI.

RPI is good academics. Having recruited at Bucknell, he'll have a good idea as to how to go about fishing in that pond.

1. Landis has been gone from San Jose State since at least the start of February. May have been voluntary but I am somewhat doubtful since he apparently left without a job.

2. When he "fled" Bucknell, he was entering the final year of his contract. He would have been gone after that final year unless the team made a huge improvement.
