Holy crap. My - and probably all FCS football fans' - heart goes out to his family and the Wildcats' nation.

Insane! Some scumbag wants a few bucks and ends the life of a someone who has worked so hard and is on the verge of achieving great things athletically and academically. A real tragedy. My family sends their prayers to the Walker family.

Here's an article with more information (http://www.vaildaily.com/article/20110318/NEWS/110319774/1078&ParentProfile=1062). He was a short distance outside the main University of Colorado campus in a well-traveled residential area with no reputation for violent crime. Terrible.

Very disheartening to see people with so little regard for human life.

Terrible. Fortunately the perp was too dumb to throw the gun away. They should be able to match the bullets and put this guy away for life.

I read about this tragic news and my first thought is, when someone has a weapon, just give them whatever they want.

I rarely speak of this, but I have been in nearly the same situation (albeit without a gun, my attacker had a small crowbar), I was badly beaten as a result and I realize that people just act out of instinct (the first thing my mother said was "what were you thinking" and the answer was "I guess I wasn't").

I understand the emotion, the adrenaline kicks in and you react...he was just trying to protect his friend (in my situation, the robber grabbed my girlfriend's arm to steal her purse and I just lunged at him out of instinct...I didn't even really see the crowbar until he started hitting me with it). That was 15 years ago and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about it...what I would have done differently now.

I pray to give strength to this young man's family (and I pray for the young lady who will probably have doubts the rest of her life as to whether she made the matter worse by grabbing at the man's mask). God Bless.

This is absolutely horrible! How can people be so cold and with so little regard for human life? Hopefully, this poor excuse of a human being will be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law!!! My heart goes out to his family and friends... my prayers are with you.
