Well mine is more of a log (I renamed it to Log), not much writing from me... more of a repository of articles that don't fit at I-AA.org.

Yea, I'm linking all I-AA on mine, so if there is any out there I'm missing, let me know!

And if any of you fanatics out there have thought about starting one, we're all pretty willing to help each other out. I'd love to see more I-AA blogs!

I just added a link to CelticCat's Big Sky Blog (http://bscfootball.blogspot.com/); its excellent.

Besides individual teams, I would like to see more league blogs. An A10 Blog would be great if one of our saner fans (i.e. someone who could keep Homer on a short leash) would take the plunge. Tribe4life comes to mind...

I've had a lot of fun with mine. When I started, I thought I'd keep it going until I run out of material or I loose interest----- neither has happened.

Just a curious question, how serious do you bloggers take the job? Do you actually get media credentials? Or are you more like fans in the stands posting online?

colgate13
February 23rd, 2006, 01:50 PM
LFN get cred from I-AA.org (I think). I'm just the lay fan with a big mouth and some time on my hands... Not that I don't take what I do seriously!

I think there is/was a huge void in dedicated media coverage for I-AA. If the 'pros' won't do it, well, why not me?

Go ahead Pard4Life... keep turning those wheels... www.blogger.com is the starting point... and with all the great resources from your school (like Andy, 29, carney, scout, etc.), you might get something fun going!

And then, one day, when the public discovers how awesome I-AA is, we're all going to get bought out and be millionaires!!!! :)

There is a site that will "analyze" your blog and compute its business worth on the strength of its links to and from. I believe that the amount is what some large business would pay to "own" your site and have its trademarks there.

The "Blogworth" site is here (http://www.business-opportunities.biz/projects/how-much-is-your-blog-worth/)

Now if only Google will realize the opportunity that lies in I-AA and send 'Gate13 and the rest of us bloggers some of its billions...

Never tried it. I get the impression that only the tech or political blogs actually make any money....

Or the porn blogs like Fleshbot (http://fleshbot.com/)----- not that I've ever been there of course.

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your attention to the site (http://www.collegefootballresource.com) (www.collegefootballresource.com) and corrections.

My division I-A links are extensive but I'd love any help I can get adding noteworthy links for the teams and divisions you are interested in to help those sections at my website. Feel free to email me noteworthy links, I'll be sure to add them fairly soon (I have a bit of a backlog of links from time to time, takes a while to appropriately sort them).

Just out of curiosity, how do you fellow bloggers get your news updates? Covering 9 teams is time-consuming - I just check newspapers online daily. Is there a better way, maybe a newsgroup or something?

Umass74

Catbob:

I hear ya talkin'. I spend a lot of time cycling through the usual sources of material for my UMass blog every day. I'm helped by UMass' active media relations dept. Some I-AA teams do not update their websites much.

Covering a whole conference would be much harder.

I would suggest that you put the bite on one fan from each team and ask them to alert you to their teams news. Them supplying you with a link would be even better.

If no one will help (or some teams do not have a fan who would step up), then search one team per day and cycle through the league that way. Teams with fans who send you alerts would get more frequent blog posts.

I enjoy your blog. :hurray:

Ralph got his plug on my Grambling blog. :)

I was one of the invited guests, along with Grambling State coach Melvin Spears and former passer Bruce Eugene, on broadcaster Ralph Wallace's weekly Tuesday night program I-AA Waves, a national streaming radio show devoted to Division I-AA football.

Wallace brought up an interesting question, one that resonated with me later. He asked me to explain the attraction of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Comparing black college football to the rest of I-AA, I said: We need to appreciate each on their own terms.

In the end, I guess I can't help but wonder why we have to pick sides at all. It makes as much sense as arguing over jazz versus rock. Can't we have both? Would Miles mean more, or Lennon less, if the other had never had a hit?

Of course not.
The hot topic right now is Grambling's AD search: http://www.thenewsstar.com/news/blogs/blog3/index.html

Although I would forget to enter occasionally, I really enjoyed it when I did. It forced me to pay attention to some of the I-AA teams in areas that I typically would not have followed. When it came time for the playoffs, I actually knew a little about the teams. If you find the time, you can add me to the list of players. Thanks for the effort.:hurray:
