View Full Version : Norhern iowa MVFC Champions - Again

Northern Iowa wrapped up their 14th conference title today in 26 seasons of the Gateway / MVFC (I don't count 2008 because we didn't get the auto-bid). Not bad for a re-building year. Maybe people just need to accept that fact that we are going to win until we don't instead of making themselves look like an idiot and saying UNI is going to finish 4th.

University of Northern Iowa Athletic Conference. Has a nice ring to it.xnodx

That year we didn't get the AQ we got a seed and SIU didn't.

Picking UNI 4th is good motivation materialxnodx

Afterall, it did take Iowa 2 blocked FGs and Illinois State scoring with .6 seconds left last year to keep UNI out of the playoffs...

Take notice, UNI QB Rennie is now the MVFC leading Rusher. He split snaps at QB for 5 games....

#10 sure hasn't been flawless but he has had some impressive production between the picks and fumbles...

With Minett out for the last game of his career against the SUE Rennie will likely end up as the leading rusher for the year. Sad, he would have run wild Saturday. We need to start scheduling these type of games to start the year, not end it.

Yup, UNI winning the MVFC is like a rite of Fall. Now, the only thing to make it complete is for UNI to crash out of the playoffs in spectacular fashion, most likely to a CAA team. Then the annual rite of Fall will be complete. ;)

Wow, we are a lot better than I thought we were...

Individually
#1 Rusher (QB!)
#1 Kicker
#1 Punter
#1,3 and 5 in Sacks
#2 and #6 in all Purpose yds

Should be a good game this weekend though,
#1 Offense WIU vs. #1 Defense UNI
UNI is 5th WIU is 3rd

#1 Scoring offense (WIU 36.1pts/game) vs. #2 Scoring defense (UNI 20.9)

There was a time where I felt we played more CAA teams than the CAA Champ did...

Whats difficult is the obvious....inthe playoffs you can't lose. In your regular season, you can lose to 3 of them and still make the playoffs....
