Portland State snapped Northern Colorado’s six match winning streak with a 3-2 victory over the Bears at the Stott Center on Friday. The loss ties the two teams for the No. 1 spot, both with 7-1 conference records. The Vikings also swept Northern Arizona over the weekend. Northern Colorado turned around on Saturday to pull out a 3-2 victory over Eastern Washington in Cheney, Wash. Montana State swept the then No. 3 Sacramento State on Friday before the Hornets traveled to Missoula to meet Montana. The Grizzlies were victorious over the Hornets for the fourth straight win in a 3-0 decision. Idaho State toppled Weber State 3-0 in Pocatello, Idaho as well. Sunday, Montana State took a 3-0 loss to Seattle University in Seattle, Wash. Conference play continues next week as the league’s teams move into the second portion of league play. Montana will travel to Bozeman, Mont. to take on intra-state rival Montana State on Friday while Eastern Washington travels to Ogden, Utah to face Weber State and Portland State travels to Pocatello, Idaho to take on Idaho State. Northern Arizona will make the trip to California’s capital to meet Sacramento State.
