Fans would enjoy game with Western Kentucky
By Larry Vaught, KentuckySportsReport.com
Now that Kentucky can add a 12th game to its football schedule starting in 2006 and also begin counting one victory over a Division I-AA team each year toward bowl eligibility, there’s no reason for the Wildcats not to find a way to play Western Kentucky. ...

That'd be great for the Hilltoppers if Kentucky were willing to do it. If anything, it'd give Kentucky some confidence heading into SEC play with a better W-L record, though I wouldn't be surprised if the Hilltoppers could pull of a 'W' as they are pretty formidable in most years.

Kentucky is never bowl eligible... so not sure why that is a concern.
KY and WKU almost had a game a couple years ago. The money wasn't right.

Given the matchup in the NCAA basketball tourney maybe the time would be right to get the contract finalized! Kentucky could not hold a candle to Louisville right now so I would think the WKU would be a more likely opponent.

If I was UK, I would go for the juggular and play EKU. Give them 2 1-AA teams to play.

Uk would not play EKU back in our championship years , why would they play WKU now.. I can think of several reasons not to play..haha

I'd take WKU +14 off the bat and expect them to cover. No reason they shouldn't, it is "UK FOOTBALL" after all. GO CATAMOUNTS!!!
