Anyway I can fix the title of the thread. Wrong week. This would be week 4 correct?

Well, the #5 Delaware @ #3 James Madison is going to be a hell of an early-season match-up.

If Elon wins out and loses one more game they will stay ranked but have no shot at the playoffs.

I find these to be some of the major outliers. Teams who are 3-1/3-0 are ahead in their conference are WAY behind teams that haven't produced to their preseason rankings...The three highlighted are 2-9!!!!

Georgetown/WIU/Robert Morris should have more votes

J'ville/ Alcorn/ Brown/ Bethune should have gotten more of a look as well

Not saying that all or any should be in the top 25 (3 were for me) but should be the top 30/35 with better support then they got...

SIU has no business being ranked. We have to go 5-2 just to finish with a winning record this year!

Chattanooga and Wofford have done more to deserve a ranking than Elon this season.

This. Chattanooga cracked my poll this week. Elon, 0-fer-D1, is out.

How on earth is SIU still ranked? They've gotten drilled by a bad FBS team and have two really bad losses to unranked opponents.

Probably an error in submission intended to be for Delaware. TSN does not validiate its ballots, which is why the ORV category is a mess. Its also why the poll has lost all credibility in the last 2-3 years.

I don't know why we're ranked at this point. It was a good streak while it lasted......

How can two teams (Elon & Southern Illinois) that are 1-3 be ranked in the top 25? Richmond is 1-2 and ranked #11? Out of the top 25 teams, EIGHT teams have a .500 or worse record. Good thing we expanded the playoffs to 20 teams.

How does Texas Southern with a loss to Tuskegee (Div II) get into the poll? They are what - 1-3? Losses to an FBS and loss to Prairie View A&M (who lost to Grambling)...

Sports Network has a lot of hacks trying to get their school publicity - utter joke! I guess the same can be said for CS.com's poll too.

Who or Why did someone give Georgia State 2 points? This is extremely poor voting. I didn't participate this year because of my job. I did use some what judgement when I voted. I did way to much research but I tried to be fair and unbiased. I always voted Georgia Southern lowered than most. I always favored these schools more than others - Montana, Delaware, JMU, New Hampshire and McNeese. I really miss voting with you guys but keep up the good work.

You could almost assume that TX Southern and Georgia St could be for TX St and Georgia Southern.

Would not surprise me... I just do not understand how votes can be justified...

Of course, didn't we have the same issue the other week when someone voted Jackson State as the numero uno in the nation instead of Jacksonville State?

Yep, just proves the voters aren't really paying attention or putting much thought into it. Or maybe are typing an email to a secretary that doesn't know who is who.

I'm convinced that at least some of the bad votes are intentionally done by douchebags wanting to have a laugh at FCS. Valpo and Howard were there last week, and this week Fordham magically appears on the list after losing to a DII when they weren't on the list last week. Nobody who makes a living writing about sports screws up this often. Make the votes public or boycott the poll. Don't acknowledge that it exists.

Or people throwing darts at a board, or completely ignoring the actual games that have taken place. Take Montana (yes, my team). Ranked 11, ahead of two teams - TWO! - that beat them (Cal Poly and Eastern Washington). Granted, both losses were on the road, which should factor in how you assess the Griz, but jeez, give teams credit for wins they have actually racked up. I could see Montana losing one of those games and still being ranked ahead of one, but after two, with no quality wins for the Griz yet, and you're stretching credibility to a breaking point.

I caught a show on CBSSports called pollspeak, where they call out the voters on their ignoramus votes in the FBS poll. We need a show like that for FCS. Then again, we have playoffs.

Shoot, most of thse guys are either beat reporters for weekly smalltown fishwraps or bloggers in their mama's basement trying to figure out who can play and who can't in between wishing they had a hundred bucks to buy some new porn.

That poll reminds me of a litterbox... it gets changed once a week but it is still full of crap.... or maybe that's Jerry Moore's underwear. Whatever, same difference.

4 different PL (Gtown, Lehigh, Fordham, and Colgate) teams getting votes, really? Fordham lost to Bryant and a D-II team!

4 Ivy teams get votes as well (Brown, Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth), why? Yale eeks out a win vs Gtown and Harvard beats HC to establish credibility?

4 'other' MEAC teams (not including #9 SCSU) get votes in the poll (Bethune-Cookman, Delaware State, FAMU, Hampton), is this a mistake? DSU is is 0-3!?!

However, just one NEC gets any votes! I wonder why ... ?

----

Liberty earns 223 total points from voters and Robert Morris has just 15 points - how can they be so far apart?

SIU (1-3) has just 1 win (vs sub D-I Quincy) and is ranked #24? Come on people!

I know that Southeast Missouri is not a powerhouse by any means. Just the fact that we won all of 2 games a year ago shows that. But after starting pretty well against Ball State (7-7 at half, lost by 17), beating Murray State, beating SIU (ranked #5 at the time) all of these on the road and then beating Tennessee Tech this weekend (who is said to have the hardest schedule in FCS?) I would think that the Redhawks would get a little more attention. I mean the fact that SIU is still in the top 25 at 1-3???

Yes, I know I probably sound like a homer, but really? SIU is still there? Other teams with poor records still in the top 25? EIU a week ago was still getting votes (now 0-4)..
