A week after Massachusetts battled Michigan down to the final moments, Stony Brook took a one-point lead into the fourth quarter against the #11/9 (Sports Network/Coaches) Minutemen, but John Griffin's one-yard touchdown was the difference as UMass (3-1) topped Stony Brook (1-3), 26-21, before a crowd of more than 5,300 at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
